Event Description:
This month The Business Toolbox presents Angelina Salazar with Family Health West discussing "Why businesses give back to communities." The monthly presentation brings together the Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce, Business Incubator, and City of Fruita in a joint effort to provide education and informational resources with little or no cost. Each month features a guest speaker with topics to help businesses grow and prosper. There is no cost for Fruita Chamber members and only $5 for non-members. This is a great opportunity for local businesses to find useful information that will help their company prosper. For more information please contact Kathie Fingerson 970-639-0819.
Why should your business give back to the community? Does it matter?
This time of year there are plenty of charities around asking for your help and donations. It can be a bombardment of requests that seem overwhelming during your busy day. Should you even consider choosing an outlet for donations of time or money? If you look at the example of Family Health West, then the answer is a resounding yes! Their generous reputation has become a strong example of how to do it right.
The Fruita Business Toolbox brings Angelina Salazar, Director of Communications, to share the history of Family Health West, located in Fruita, Colorado, which got its beginnings over 60 years ago. The original 20-bed hospital was a result of a community effort in the mid-1940s to provide health care for residents of rural Mesa County in Western Colorado. Local farmers and ranchers drove to Utah and brought back loads of bricks and supplies to build the hospital. As the years passed, the organization implemented a broader range of healthcare services to meet the needs of the community.
Come learn how this pioneer and leader in healthcare services for individuals of all ages and innovator of Alzheimer’s and elder care began and developed through the years to now encompass 15 facilities. Discover how giving back made a difference to this organization and created strong partnerships within the community that contributed to their success.
Don’t miss this opportunity to join the discussion November 10th as part of an ongoing educational series with Fruita Business Toolbox. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month, from 7:30-8:30 AM, in the Fruita Civic Center, Business Incubator office.
